MYPB Colors & First Lego League

The last weeks I haven't been writing due to being forgetful and busy. In art, we have used our lessons on First Lego League. We shouldn't have used that much time on the Lego League and Mr. Roman was very generous woth giving us time. Last week, we started our new unit; colors. I wasn't here the whole lesson since i went to the dentist. Today we learnt some terminology. It was ok. I am looking forward to learning more on colors :-) -Alex

MYPB UNIT 1

Today I finished the first unit, caligraphy. I am happy with how I worked and this has been a fun unit. I particularly liked the writing and that I could write neatly (which I didn't knew I could). I had troubles chosing the quote, I didn't know which I wanted but I ended up doing this poem by John Frusciante (a musician): I find that the best way to do things is to consantly move forward and to never doubt anything and keep moving forward, if you made a mistake say you made a mistake.

This is my main assessment drawing of my shoes and symbols that represent me and my culture. Im going to start with the football/sun, it obviously represents me playing football and how football is a big sport in France.
The mountains represent the mountains and the alps in France and how I like to go skiing in the alps every winter/christmas break. The shoe represents sports and skateboarding, so do the cruise boardon the side of the lake. I drew the lake because Finland is known for its thousands of lakes. The flags (France and Finland) are obviously there to represent me coming from France and Finland. The two mysterious looking heads under the cruise boards are (from the left) a "skelleton" and a "creeper" form the game called Minecraft (link: http://www.minecraft.net/ ) that I like to play.
Now, for the last symbol is the most signifisant one to me, the logo of the group Red Hot Chili Peppers (link: http://redhotchilipeppers.com/ ) which means a lot to me because I grew up with them and I've listened to them since  I was in kindergarden. I chose not to have the Finish airforce logo because it may be discriminating and misunderstood... This lesson we did nothing but draw our shoes and the symbols that represent us an our culture. It was very fun and I'm satisfied with the drawing.

This lesson we started the drawing of our shoes and things that symbolize our culture. This was fun and I'm well of. I have a bit less than half left. This lesson was very nice :)

This lesson we planned our main assessment. We made three designs of what we'd like our drawing to look like. We had to find symbols and things that represent us and our culture.

This lesson we did a bit of drawing. We drew a blanket which was hung up on the white board with loads of different shading. I belive this is called drase or something similar. I personaly believe this was very hard, but eventualy I got the hang of it and I hope it is going to turn out good :-)
