8/3/2012 and unit/assesment reflection

What we did in the lesson:
This lesson we did a bit of reflection/evaluation on room in 1-point perspective and the city in 2-point
perspective. Here is the feed back for the room in 1-point perspective:

Evaluation/reflection from my class mates:

- A little bit innacurate with the vertical line on the door. I agree with this statement but it is a little exaggerating.
- There could have been colors on the wall, it was too grey. I agree with this too. It was intended and the reason I did it was because there were black smudges on the paper, so I used a grey/black color to cover it up.
- There could have been more details. I kind of agree with this. This statement was a bit "picky" but I could have added a few details.
- Floating chest looks wierd. I agree with this, it was not intended to make the chest floating. I was a bit innacurate with this.
- I liked the painting (smiley painting) and the simplisity of it . I did it simple because sometimes simple is best, and I thought it was nice with a smiley painting in the bacground.
- Creative coloring on the furniture. I agree and did this because I wanted some flashy colors to cover for the boring, grey colors on the wall and because I thought the colors matched and were in the same "group".

My own reflection/evaluation:
I my self am quite satisfied with my 1-point perspective room drawing. There could have been more colors on the wall and a few more details. Not more than that...

2-point perspective city drawing reflection/evaluation:

Evaluation/reflection from my classmates:
-Very nice and realistic shading on the buildings/ground but the clouds and sun could have matched the grounds shading better. I agree with the clouds and sun needing to match the ground's shading. I focused a lot on shading the ground so it would look realistic.
- Mountains are too close to the city and there is nothing between the mountains and the city (eg. grass). I agree with this but I think they're just looking for faults were there are'nt any.
- Clouds could be more spread out and larger. I agree with this too but again, they're just looking for faults were there are'nt...
- Mountains, buildings and clouds gives the city a bit of variety. I did this because I did'nt just want the buildings, I wanted to give it a bit of varity.
- Over all a very nice city. I myslef am very satisfied with this city.

My own reflection/evaluation:
I am very satisfied with this drawing. It is probably the best drawing I've so far made in Art. The reason I think there were'nt so many comments on my drawing is beacause some people could'nt find so mutch negative about my drawing, except the small details. I liked my shading on the buildings and the sky. Mr. Roman taught me that when you color the sky darker on the top of the painting and lighter where the sky ends at the bottom gives it a realistic touch. I think the clouds should have been bigger, fewer and more spread around.

This has been an exciting and fun unit.
